This also happens in the Demo for the DocumentEditor that you Provide.

It seems like the 2 Columns with the single Cells are overflowing into the next page without taking the connected cells with it.

Steps to reproduce:

  1. Open new Document and add a Table with 2 Rows and 4 Columns.
  2. Get the Table near the end of the first page.
  3. connect the cells in the 1st and 4th column
  4. write in the bottom cell of the 2nd or 3rd column until a new page is created

i have added a video where i do all the steps to reproduce the bug.

Sven,

We have confirmed the reported issue 'the table splitting issue' as a defect and logged a defect report. We will fix this issue in our upcoming weekly patch release which is expected on March 12, 2024.

You can track the status of the bug through the below feedback link:

Disclaimer: “Inclusion of this solution in the weekly release may change due to other factors including but not limited to QA checks and works reprioritization.”

Root cause:

We haven't inserted empty cells into the new split row based on the column span count of the previous split row.
