Hi:
In a Microsoft Visual Studio Community 2022 (64-bit) environment - Current
Version 17.7.4
I convert PDF files to PDF/A as in the following example:
try
{
// Start of the conversion process
mDocument = new PdfLoadedDocument(it.Text);
mDocument.ConvertToPDFA(PdfConformance);
// modify the file name to add "_PDF-A"
string fileWithOutExtension = Path.Combine(Path.GetDirectoryName(it.Text), Path.GetFileNameWithoutExtension(it.Text));
fileWithOutExtension = fileWithOutExtension + "_PDF-A.PDF";
lvPDF_A.Items.Add(fileWithOutExtension);
mDocument.Save(fileWithOutExtension);
mDocument.Close();
}
Apparently the conversion is correct but when trying to validate the file with Adobe Acrobat it indicates that there are validation errors. I have tried to validate the same pdf through a website like: https://avepdf.com/es/pdfa-validation
Obtaining the same result validation errors. Are the generated PDF/A files really valid? Finally, I have tried to generate the same PDF using the demo made for ASP.NET:
https://ej2.syncfusion.com/aspnetmvc/PDF/PdfToPdfAConverter#/fluent.
The generated file presents the same problem when validated online or with Adobe.
My apologies because some of the files and images have the data in Spanish
Best regards.
Hi Jesús,
Could you kindly provide the input pdf file for which you are encountering the issue? This will greatly assist us in conducting further investigation.
Regards,
Ravikumar B
Hi:
My apologies, I thought I had attached it. I have attached the original file and the one converted to PDF/A. On the other hand, I am doing the work with WinForm and C#, the link to the demo with ASP.NET was to indicate that the validation error also occurred with the same file.
Thanks
Best Regards.
Thanks for the document.

Good afternoon:
I'm sorry to have to return to the matter of converting to PDF/A. Once the libraries have been updated to version 2023 Volume 4 - v24.*. The problem continues to occur. I am attaching a rar file that contains an image of the PDF/A 1b non-conformity in Adobe Acrobat, the PDF file 6322942A-Manual-Praktica-HE.pdf, and the Output file theoretically with PDF/A 1b compliance in the ..\Debug folder. As well as the source code of the project

Good afternoon:
I have verified that the latest nuget package has included the fix for this “Conformance failure occurs while converting particular pdf to Pdf/A conformance” fix in our latest weekly release (24.1.44) and generates pdfA 1b whose validation with Adobe Acrobat is correct. However, when the same process is carried out for conformance 2b, Adobe acrobat indicates incorrect validation. Attached is a winrar file with the image of the erroneous validation, the original PDF file, the PDFA file (Output.pdf) in debug folder and the complete solution in Visual Studio.
Thank you so much
Best regards.

Good afternoon
I have tried the conversion to PDF/A 1B and 2B again with the latest patch, and it still does not pass the Adbobe Acrobat validation tests.
I hope you are not performing some wrong test, if so, my apologies.
I attach file. rar with verification screenshot, acrobat, original PDF file and pdf/A file (output.pdf) as well as the complete project containing the aforementioned files in the debug folder
Thank you
Best Regards
Hi;
As I indicated in my previous message with the patch sent:
https://syncfusion.com/Installs/support/patch/24.1.41/1534135/F185658/SyncfusionNuget_24.1.41_1534135_1232024052801936_F185658.zip?_gl=1*19qvpxk*_ga*OTM5MzMxOTIxLjE2OTQ4 MTY0NDg.*_ga_41J4HFMX1J*MTcwNzA2OTM2MC45MS4wLjE3MDcwNjkzNjYuMC4wLjA and ....... ....
Conformace validation 1B and 2B did not pass
However, with the latest nuget package, 24.2.3, the conversion to PDF/A meets conformance validation 1B and 2B. While with the patch sent, As I indicated in my previous message with the patch sent.
Later I tried with another pdf file, which I attach, which does not pass the 1B and 2B validation conformance either.
Best Regards.

Good afternoon:
Please, send me a patch for the Essential Studio 24.1.41 version
Best Regards.
We will provide the patch for version 24.1.41 on February 27, 2024.
We have created a licensed patch for this fix “Conformance conversion not working in particular document” in the version 24.1.41 and the patch can be downloaded from the following link.
Recommended approach - exe will perform automatic configuration
Please find the patch setup from below
Advanced approach – use only if you have specific needs and can directly replace existing assemblies for your build environment
Please find the patch assemblies alone from below
Assembly Version: 24.1.41
Installation Directions :
This patch should replace the files “Syncfusion.Pdf.Base.dll” under the following folder.
$system drive:\ Files\Syncfusion\Essential Studio\24.1.41 \precompiledassemblies\24.1.41 \4.6
Eg : $system drive:\Program Files\Syncfusion\Essential Studio\9.3.0.61\precompiledassemblies\9.3.0.61\4.0
To automatically run the Assembly Manager, please check the Run assembly manager checkbox option while installing the patch. If this option is unchecked, the patch will replace the assemblies in precompiled assemblies’ folder only. Then, you will have to manually copy and paste them to the preferred location or you will have to run the Syncfusion Assembly Manager application (available from the Syncfusion Dashboard, installed as a shortcut in the Application menu) to re-install assemblies.
Note :
To change how you receive bug fixes, ask your license management portal admin to change your project’s patch delivery mode.
Good afternoon:
After repeating the tests in accordance with the patch received, the result is still incorrect. Adobe Acrobat indicates that it is not compliant with the 2B standard, Output.pdf file in the Debug folder. Attached complete project in the debug folder there are two pdf files, challenge question 153 version 0.pdf that in previous versions of the library was not compliant and currently it is ok, however the other file I attached does not pass the acrobat validation tests.
Best Regards.
Sorry for inconvenience cause.
We have created the custom patch for this issue. And included the both fix for this NuGet. Please find the attached custom patch,
Good afternoon:
I am sorry to inform you that although the new version of Syncfusion.Pdf.WinForms 25.1.35, nuget package improves the results with respect to previous versions. There are still a number of pdf files that do not pass verification with Acrobat. I attach file and complete test project. In the debug folder there are the files and 3 pdfs, which do not pass the verification in their corresponding Output.pdf file
Best Regards.

As of now, we do not have support to conformance conversion for Type3 font document. So, we have logged the feature request for this “Support to the conformance conversion for the Type3 font documents” and we don't have any immediate plan to implement this feature. We will implement this support on any of our upcoming release. You can track the status of the feature using the following feedback link. |
Hi:
Sorry to come back to this issue. But I keep checking validation errors in the PDF->PDF/A conversion. In this case with PDF Reference v1.7. I attach the original file and the converted one. I have verified the non-compliance with Adobe Acrobat and VeraPDF.
I have used the following code:
//await Task.Run(() => mDocument.ConvertToPDFA(PdfConformance));
await Task.Run(() => mDocument.Conformance = PdfConformance);
Version of Syncfusion.PDF.Base : 27.1462.48.0
Thank you very much
Jesus
