How to divide the diagram into parts?

Hello,

Is it possible to divide the diagram into parts? I mean cut into pieces. When creating an interface, we can divide a grid into parts as follows. Is it possible to separate the diagram into parts and position it only in the desired part? There are parameters called RowCount and ColumnCount in PageSettings. Can multiple areas of different widths and heights be created using these?

    <Grid.ColumnDefinitions>

            <ColumnDefinition/>

            <ColumnDefinition/>

            <ColumnDefinition/>

        </Grid.ColumnDefinitions>

        <Grid.RowDefinitions>

            <RowDefinition/>

            <RowDefinition/>

            <RowDefinition/>

        </Grid.RowDefinitions>

Hi Özgür,

We do not have the capability to divide a diagram into several parts, like a grid. Could you please provide us with more details and the purpose of your request? This will allow us to evaluate and assist you more effectively.

Regards,

Prakash

Hello,

What I want to create is an open source application that contains ready-made tools that support various protocols with which the user can quickly create his own user interface. In order for the interface created in the application to be responsive, it must be able to place the tools dragged on the diagram into the specified grids. If it can divide the area into pieces, the tool it drags and drops will directly take the size of that grid and will not cause distortion when enlarging or reducing the screen. For example; Assume that an sfdatagrid UserControl has been created. When the user divides the diagram into two parts, he can put any tools he wants, such as buttons, textboxes, etc., in the first part. When you place the sfdatagrid in the second part and the relevant grid is auto, the sfdatagrid can be scaled within the diagram regardless of the screen size.

Hi Özgür,

As mentioned previously, we do not have the capability to divide a diagram into multiple parts like a grid. However, we have created a simple sample demonstrating how to split a diagram using a non-selectable transparent node. This node serves as a panel for the new node to be placed over. Please refer to the attached sample and video reference for your convenience.

Prakash

Thank you. The sample provided serves to cover the area and partially serves to fragment it. But it does not make it responsive. Can I offer the feature of dividing the diagram into parts as a request?

Hi Özgür,

Query: I do not have the capability to divide a diagram into several parts, like a grid.

We have created a new feature request for the capability to divide a diagram into several parts, like a grid in WPF SfDiagram control.

Please find the below link for tracking the status of the feature implementation.

Feedback link: Support to divide a diagram into multiple parts like a grid in WPF | Feedback Portal (syncfusion.com)

Please cast your vote to make it count. We will prioritize the features every release based on the demands, and we do not have an immediate plan to implement this feature since we have committed to already planned work. So, this feature will be available in any of our upcoming releases.

If you have any more specifications/suggestions for the feature request, you can add them as a comment in the portal. We will share the release details in the feedback itself.

Regards,

Deepa Thiruppathy

The request is defined as private, which means others cannot vote on it. How can I update it publicly?

Hi Özgür,

I apologize for any inconvenience caused. We have made the feedback portal public now. You can now submit your vote.
