Anbumani We are using UFT automation Tool (previoslly known as QTP) to automate our enterprise level .Net based desktop application. Which other automation tool can be used to fullfill this requirement.

Hi Anurag,

Query “We are using UFT automation Tool (previously known as QTP) to automate our enterprise-level .Net based desktop application. Which other automation tool can be used to fulfill this requirement.”

There are several UI automation tools available in the market to automate the .NET applications. Initially, we used TestComplete and later, Selenium tools to automate our Asp.NET Core, MVC, and Blazor components. Now, we are using the Playwright automation tool in our automation system.

Regards,

Theveshwar

Hi Anurag,

To clarify, the tools we mentioned are primarily designed for automating web applications. These automation tools are specifically built to work with web-based UIs, and they are highly effective when used for testing web applications, including those that utilize Syncfusion’s web components.

These tools simulate user interactions with the application in a real browser environment, ensuring that the tests accurately reflect how the application behaves in a production environment. Whether it's simulating clicks, typing, or dragging elements on the page, these tools allow you to perform detailed UI testing and validate the functionality of your components.

Given that Syncfusion’s components are web-based, these tools are a great fit for automating UI testing. They offer comprehensive features, including test automation, cross-browser testing, and continuous integration support, making them ideal for robust and reliable testing workflows.

Are there any plans to release the Playwright automation library that you use to test the components?

We are using Playwright as well into our project and in order to test the app we will need to basically write again what you already have as testing.

Sometimes in React the component re-renders in the middle of an action, like a dropdown list, which causes the dropdown to close without selecting an item. This is just one example.

At least the basic usage would be great if there could be a playwright library.

Hi Mircea Ontanu,

We apologize for the delay caused.

At the moment, we do not have plans to release the Playwright automation library for Syncfusion components. However, we understand your use case and the challenges with testing. If you have specific requirements or scenarios, please share more details with us. We’ll be happy to review them and provide guidance and assist you further.

Please feel free to reach out!
