Allow the possibillity to add multiple shifts for SfSchedule on Day, Week, Workweek views

Hello Syncfusion team

We were wondering if it were possible for the Syncfusion team to add a way for the user to define multiple shifts within a day, as it currently works, SfSchedule only allows to define non working hours within a view but we have a requirement that shows if the user has different non working hours throughout the week/days (for example: On call shifts/Snap on/Overtime).

As of now Syncfusion SfSchedule only allows a fixed non working hours set throughout the week and it is not possible to set this within different days in the week.

With the implementation of these shifts we would require to add appointments within them and be able to differentiate them by color.

We have been able to work around it in part by using Non-accessible timeslots and add them to the views but as the name implies they don't allow appointments to be added within them, we can define slots where the user is not supposed to be doing work and we can set the background color.

Is it possible to create a type of list similar to Non-accessible timeslots that allows the user to add appointments into them?

We would also require these shifts to have a background and to have a title.

We would be requiring this for SfSchedule in the UWP, Xamarin iOS and Xamarin Android platforms.

Please let us know your thoughts about this.

Kind regards

Dan

Hi Dan,

#Regarding Allow the possibillity to add multiple shifts for SfSchedule on Day, Week, Workweek views

As of now, schedule doesn’t have the support for the same. We have logged a feature request from our end. We will implement this feature in any of our upcoming releases.

At the planning stage for every release cycle, we review all open features and identify features for implementation based on specific parameters including product vision, technological feasibility, and customer interest. We will let you know when this feature is implemented. We appreciate your patience until then.

You can also communicate with us regarding the open features any time using our Feature Report page.

If you have any more specification/suggestions to the feature request, you can add it as a comment in the portal and cast your vote to make it count.

Hi SaiGanesh,

I don't think the issue linked to this task is the same as the one I created. It is quite different. Is it possible to create a new requirement for the Shifts feature?

I don't understand why that request has been linked to this, could you explain how these 2 are the same?

Hi Dan,

Your requirement can be achieved with the feature of SpecialTimeRegions, Special regions support for Day, Week, Workweek and Timeline view based on date.Timeslot can be highlighted and touch interactions are enabled/disabled in those slots. You can also set the different titles and different backgrounds for the time slot in the view. Also, interaction-related events such as tap, double-tapped and long-pressed events are also disabled here. Please refer to the image for reference.

We have already implemented this feature in the WPF and .Net MAUI Scheduler. Please refer to the link for your reference.

Hi SaiGanesh,

Is this going to be supported for Xamarin.Android? If so is there a timeline for us to know when it will be released?

Kind regards
