Xamarin Forms - SfPdfViewer text search not working

Hi, 

I am facing an error in the text search property where text highlighting is wrong and when i click to see next results of search, my pdf is not scrolling down.

I'm sending an attachment with sample video and pdf file.


Syncfusion.Xamarin.SPdfViewer (19.4.0.47)

Xamarin Forms (5.0.0.2337)

Greetings from Syncfusion support,


We were able to reproduce the issues, “Text highlighting is not proper while searching text in particular PDF” and “Scrolling accordingly to next search text instance is not working properly in Xamarin.Forms iOS platform”. Currently, we are validating these issues and we will update the further details on February 21, 2022.

We sincerely regret for inconvenience caused,   
We are still validating on the issue, “Text highlighting is not proper while searching text in particular PDF” and “Scrolling accordingly to next search text instance is not working properly in Xamarin.Forms iOS platform”. We will provide further details on February 23, 2022 without any further delay.

Due to complexity, we are still validating the issues “Text highlighting is not proper while searching text in particular PDF” and “Scrolling accordingly to next search text instance is not working properly in Xamarin.Forms iOS platform” with high priority. We will provide the further details on February 25, 2022, without any further delay.

Hi Rodrigo,  

   

We have confirmed that the issues “Text highlighting is not proper while searching text in particular PDF” and “Scrolling accordingly to next search text instance is not working properly in Xamarin.Forms iOS platform” is a defect and logged a defect report for this issue. The patch for this issue will be delivered on March- 18 -2022.

We will provide patch for this issue on March 25, 2022 without any further delay.

Hi Rodrigo,

We have resolved both the issues “Text highlighting is not proper while searching text in particular PDF” and “Scrolling accordingly to next search text instance is not working properly in Xamarin.Forms iOS platform” and the custom NuGet for the same can be downloaded from the following link.     
   
Disclaimer: Please note that we have created this NuGet for version 19.4.0.56 specifically to resolve the following issue reported in this forum 172956 
Note : Kindly follow the steps to clear the NuGet cache and then install patched NuGet to get the issue resolved.              

This fix will be included in our 2022 Volume 1 service pack release which is expected to be available in the month of April, 2022.

Thanks for replying. This solution worked for me on Android, but im facing an error on initializing on iOS,

Hi Rodrigo,

We were unable to reproduce the issue and we can load PDF properly in IOS.

Please find the sample in the below link, which we have used to reproduce the issue from our end

Could you please try the above provided sample and let us know whether we have missed out anything while replicating the issue.   


Kindly share the following details to analyze more on this issue and assist you with the better solution     

1.Simple sample/ modify the above sample to reproduce the issue.    

2.Replication video.   

3.IOS version.

4.Device Specifications

We tried to reproduce the reported issue on Iphone 11(IOS version- 15.4). Still we were unable to reproduce the issue and it is working fine for us.
