Endless background service

Hello developers, i want to create a chat application. I need when a new message will be received, to notify user by using a local notification. I also need to look for new messages even when applicaiton is totally closed.

Is there any method which i can do that? Do i need to create an endless background service? Is there any other way?

“when a new message will be received, to notify user by using a local notification”.	You can achieve your requirements by Messages.CollectionChanged event. “need to look for new messages even when applicaiton is totally closed”	We regret to let you know that we are unclear about this scenario and unable to understand from where (source for the messages) the new messages will be obtained when the application is totally closed. We would like to let you know that our SfChat control is only User interface (UI) to manage the conversation messages. Details about the possibility of receiving the notification even after the application has been closed should be obtained from the application's corresponding service provider. Please let us know if you require any assistance regarding the customization of the SfChat control.
