Moving from one edit column to cell to the next

I would like to have it so that when the user is editing one column, if they hit the down arrow or they hit the enter key it moves to the cell below and automatically puts them in edit mode. What would be the best way to accomplish this?

Hi Zachary,

Greetings from Syncfusion Support.

Based on your query, we suggest you use the Batch edit mode of Tree Grid. In which when a cell is in edit state, the consecutive cells or the below cells can be edited by pressing the arrow key or enter key.

Please refer to the below demo and documentation links for more details of Batch edit mode.

Thank you for the information Jagadesh.

I tried out batch edit mode and it does seem like the enter key is automatically supported. However, the up and down arrows do not seem to move the users to a different row. What would you suggest for those keypresses?

Hi Zachary,

Thanks for the update.

Sorry for the inconvenience caused.

We have achieved your requirement in the below sample.

In the above sample, we have used load event to bind the keyDown event to the treegrid and cellEdit event to store the current cell and row index. To edit and save the cell values, editCell and saveCell methods are used respectively.

Please refer to the below API documentation,
