Document Editor EJ2 - Header and Footer Javascript limitation

Trying to add different headers and footers to an existing Word document on the syncfusion document editor. We found that there is a lack of javascript support to declare the link between header and footer for all pages as false. We would like to access this feature to have different header and footer on multiple pages.

The current version has only support for different header and footer on first page , odd and even pages. But we are looking for different header and footer sections on all pages.

We found that the feature for linking headers and footers from a previous page as false is available in document IO. And we'd like to have a similar feature available in DocumentEditor.

For instance, On Word for desktop, when you add a new page you can unlink the header and footer from the previous ones, and make changes without changing all of your headers and footers for that specific document.

For our specific needs, we have an existing 4 page document that requires a different header and footer for each of the 4 pages.

Hi Randy,

Syncfusion Greetings!

The Word document is a flow document in which contents will not be preserved page by page; instead, the contents will be preserved sequentially section by section. Each section may extend to various pages based on its content like table, text, images etc.
Word editor renders (paginates) the contents of the Word document page by page dynamically, when opened for viewing or editing and this page wise rendered information will not be preserved in the document level as per the Word file format specification. The Document editor control does the same.

We have checked the MS Word, it doesn’t have feature like different header and footer sections on all pages. To achieve this, you can render each page as each section and then set different header and footer sections.

## link and unlink the header and footer from the previous ones

We already logged the feature request for this. We will include it in any of our upcoming release. You can track the status of feature through below feedback link:

Please let us know if you have any questions.
