What is the future of ASP.NET MVC developers?

Question

Hi,I'm looking for healthy conversation.What is the future of ASP.NET MVC developers?One of my friend said ASP.NET has no future, I am .NET developer since .NET 1.1 in winforms/webforms/WPF/MVC until Microsoft releases ASP.NET core to make me think about howcome i spend so much time to learn a technology changes often. Is it true?
