Hi Alami,
Thanks for contacting Syncfusion Support.
Query 1: Hi, i am having trouble using the winforms controls, well so far i only tried the buttonadv control, i set its image and changed its style to office2010, when i try to debug it gives the following error.
This reported behavior may occur when application reference assembly version is not common. So Essential studio and Framework version of added assembly needs to be common and Specific version as False. Can you please below screen shot and ensure this?
And follow below steps.
1. Close the application.
2. Delete Bin and Obj folders in application.
3. Reopen the application.
4. Rebuild your project.
5. Check once again to see whether the project refers to the Syncfusion assemblies of installed version and try the same.
Can you check with the above solution and let us know whether the reported behavior is resolved? If not, can you please confirm whether you have referred the assemblies from GAC or any local reference and if more than on Syncfusion Essential studio setup is installed? That will be helpful for us to analyze and provide prompt solution as earlier as possible.
Query 2: As for the toolbox icons that are missing or invisible, i did see this topic, and i followed every tip there, and still nothing works.
We suspect you may have used VS2013 or VS2015. Because, the reported issue occurs with VS2013 and VS2015 alone.
We have analyzed the reported issue and confirmed that this is a bug with Microsoft tool box integration which is discussed in below link,
Microsoft confirmed this as an bug and provided an workaround for this issue. Please make use of the below workaround to get this issue resolved by resetting toolbox caches while your display scaling level is at 100%(while using the smaller fonts).,
1. Close Visual Studio and clear the toolbox cache by deleting all *.tbd files from your profile.
File Location: C:\Users\[UserName]\AppData\Local\Microsoft\VisualStudio\[Version no.]
Screenshot
2. Go to the "Display" page in the control panel (Control Panel\Appearance and Personalization\Display): Right click on the desktop, select "Screen resolution" in the context menu, and in the "screen resolution page" select "Make text and other items larger or smaller" link.
3. In the "Display" page, select the "Let me choose one scaling level for all my displays" checkbox and then select the smaller font option, this is 100%, or no scaling.
4. Sign out from this session when prompted and sign back in
5. Start visual studio, toolbox will be re-populated on the startup and view the toolbox items whose icons were previously missing.
6. Set font scaling to the desired value by repeating steps 2-4.
Toolbox item icons should be present in the toolbox when VS is re-started.
Please let us know, if you have any concerns.
Regards,
Keerthana J
