Essential Studio 2016 Volume 1 Released

We at Syncfusion are excited to announce the release of Essential Studio 2016 Volume 1. This release sees a number of new features that provide tools to developers working on all of our supported platforms.

Universal Windows Platform developers now have access to more than 35 controls for the platform, broadening their options considerably. These controls include the new Excel-like spreadsheet control that supports over 400 built-in formulas, conditional formatting, PDF conversion, and much more. The new report viewer features adaptive rendering to facilitate development across phones, tablets, and desktops. Other features include major improvements to the chart, data grid, diagram, pivot chart, pivot grid, pivot gauge, and more.

Xamarin developers also receive a number of exciting new options. Our Xamarin suite now includes over 50 controls for Xamarin.iOS, Xamarin.Android, and Xamarin.Forms. The new carousel control allows visuals to be displayed in an interactive rotation that’s pleasing to use and view. The rotator control, also new, offers flexible choices for navigating an interface, and the new numeric up-down control allows numeric values to be increased or decreased at the push of a button. This release is rounded out by significant updates to the chart, grid, PDF library, and other controls.

Desktop developers aren’t forgotten. Our Windows Forms controls have received a number of additions and updates, including a new Excel-like spreadsheet control, new navigation drawer, and updates to reporting, maps, PDF, and other controls. For WPF, we now include a new date picker, accordion, and navigation drawer, and have improved our data grid, chart, diagram, reporting, and heat map controls, among others.

JavaScript developers will find a wide array of new and improved controls as well. We now offer support for Angular 2 across our more than 80 JavaScript controls. Our new kanban board makes it easier than ever to visualize and organize workflows. The chart control has nine new features, while the Excel-like spreadsheet control and Word-like rich text editor have been updated and enhanced. Android M and Windows 10 mobile themes are now available across all controls to provide a uniform appearance to web apps, and major updates have been applied to our diagram, Gantt, grid, PDF viewer, and pivot grid controls, among others.

As ever, we are proud of the numerous updates and additions to Essential Studio in this release. Syncfusion strives to offer the broadest collection of controls for enterprise application development across mobile, web, and desktop platforms. We hope that you will find this update as exciting as we do. You can see the complete list of new features in What’s New, and download a free 30-day trial of Essential Studio 2016 Volume 1.
