In the documentation it suggests using the "hideColumn" method of the grid object. This works great post-load. Is there anyway to accomplish the same thing but before the grid draws? I want to include several non-display columns to use in various AJAX and JavaScript methods.

Currently, we don’t have support to "Hide Column in server side method in Grid".We have logged this as a feature request in our database; we will implement this feature in any of our upcoming releases. We usually have an interval of at least three months between releases. The feature implementation would also greatly depend on the factors such as product design, code compatibility and complexity.
