MonthCalendarAdv - Selection "overlay" - can I change color or hide?

There is a blue "selected date" overlay that shows up. It's transparent and turns the cell "slightly bluer" than the background color I set.

To see what I mean:
1) click a date, see the selection rectangle and blue overlay over that date.
2) click the "none" button so that "no date is selected".
3) The selection rectangle goes away, but the blue overlay is still there.

Can I hide that overlay, or change it's color to something other than blue? I'm not seeing that in the docs or the control's members.
