Bug or Control Limitation ComboBoxAdv

Test application to demonstrate a bug that occurs when using autocomplete capabilities of comboboxadv and tabout of a control does not update the selected value properly. If an item is selected with the mouse it works appropriately. If an item is selected using the arrow keys it works properly. Problem occurs when keyboard is used for autocomplete and then the control is left by tabbing out or through the mouse. To replicate enter control, type F, press tab, column changing event won''t fire and if button is pressed wrong value will be returned. tabouttest_2606.zip

Yes, this seems to be the case. Setting the DropDownStyle of the ComboboxAdv control to DropDownList seems to address this issue.

Let me follow up with the Essential Tools Team and update this posting.

Hi Ben, I am updating this posting to let you know that this issue has been addressed. In the next version (with this fix) the listcontrol''s selected value will get updated with the new text keyed in by the user, before the combo gets validated. The above feature can also be turned off with the new UpdateSelectionBeforeValidate property. Kindly open an incident using Direct-Trac if you have any further questions on this issue. Regards, Arun
