Hi I would like to have a chart place in the grid (embeded), and the user can select the chart and drag it to anywhere on the Grid and snap to the grid nodes. Do you have a sample on how to achieve this?
Also in the Chart Cell demo project from the installation, the interactive cell value and chart doesn't seem to work. I change the value in the cell, but the chart does not update accordingly.
Could you help me how to get this work?
Thanks.

Hi Xiao,
Currently we are not having any sample that displays chart as floated one. Regarding the issue in Chart Cell demo sample, we are able to see the issue and will update you the details within two business days.

Thanks Jisha, We are looking forward to see the sample of how to set the chart control as floating chart (user can move anywhere in the grid, just like in Excel).
Best!

Hi Xiao,
The GridControl is a cell oriented control. We can have chartcontrol embed in grid cell as in chart cell demo. But it is not possible to have chartcontrol can be displayed as a floating component over grid.
Please let me know if you have any questions.

Hi Jisha,
After doing some study I think it might be possible. I looked at the chartCell sample and realize the chart displayed on the grid is actually an image, in the sample it just export the image to the grid cell, and it looks like the chart is embeded. So maybe we can use a mouse down/up event to assign the picture to the new location, so it will look like being moved.
Do you think this approach will work? Sorry I am new to the control and get quite a few questions.

Hi Xiao,
In Gridcontrol items can be dragged from one cell to another cell by OLE drag and drop support. To initiate a D&D action, you must first select a range of cells (could be a row/rows), then you must move the cursor close to any border of a selection to get the drag drop cursor displayed. You can then mouse down and drag the selection either to a new place in the same grid. This feature can be enabled by setting the AllowDrop property to true.
this.gridControl1.AllowDrop=true;
Thanks,
Jisha
