4.2 to 7.2 PDF compatibility

Does anyone know if the PDF generation libraries in essential studio 7.2 have changed much since 4.2? We have an application that does a lot of work with 4.2 PDF generation and would like to move to 7.2. Is the API much different?

Our new PDF is a complete rewrite and the API's are more similar.
