Lack of WPF Documentation

Hey,
is there any plan to extend the WPF documentation & examples as its currently hugely inferior to its Windows Form counter part.
Cheers
Tom

Hi Tom,

Thanks for your interests in Syncfusion products.

1. Regarding your query on Documentation:

Currently we are offering you the stand-alone version (CHM format) and the online documentation format. We are very sure that the help file gives a clear overview and a complete details about all the Syncfusion WPF controls in their corresponding pages.

For online documentation kindly look into the following location,

http://help.syncfusion.com/User%20Interface/WPF/Tools

For CHM format Kindly download the set up file from the WPF Sample Browser, You can download the Help files from the DashBoard itself.(both the class reference and UG)

After completely going through our documentation, still if you have any clarifications you can post a support ticket which will be answered with in 24hours of posting.

2. Regarding your query on Samples.

Our WPF samples has a uniformity of maintaining a Demo sample for each and every control exhibiting all their prime properties and functions. We do have samples explaining the DataBinding concepts(such as TreeViewAdv, MultiColumnTreeViewAdv), we also have sample exhibiting the customizations and Realtime Demos. Inaddition to the essential sample from our WPF library our engineers are also working on including a huge set of samples focusing on DataBinding to the current sample list. This samples will be available in our upcoming releases.

We have also an online sample gallery. kindly have a look in to our WPF online Sample Browser from the following link.

Please let me know if you have any questions.

Regards,
Bala.

Hey,
my previous post was not meant as a critisim, it's just for example compare the online documentation of the windows form grid and WPF Grid,

windows form grid

not including formula support pages alot more than 100 pages

WPF grid

not including formula support pages a total of 16 pages

Windows form documentation also has useful areas such as Task based help where there is no such area for WPF.

As you mentioned regarding the samples it is also hugely lacking such as very few examples on databinding;

I don't mean for the thread to sound like a complaint, it's just the lack of documentation makes implementing certain features fall to asking questions on the forum to get the answers rather than being able to read the documentation.

Hi Tom,

Yes, the documentation is not fully written for Grid.WPF, one reason is that it is still in Preview, and so we expect some API changes to make it fully work with different scenarios. Once we release it fully, the documentation for Grid.WPF will also be cleaned up.

Please let us know if you want any more details.

Thanks,
Fahad
