applying unlock key and deploying

How can one tell if the DLLs that have been deployed are using the correct unlock key? The other day the XlsIO component of our website stopped working, until we deleted the DLLs from the Bin folder on the deployment server and re-uploaded them. Might this indicate the the deployed DLLs were using an expired unlock key?
