Backward compatibility

Hi,

Regarding backward compatibility of your components, I assume when I upgrade to new versions it is guaranteed that it will not break any of my existing code that uses these components?

Regards,
Charles Gamble.

Hi Charles,

Thank you for your interest in Syncfusion version.

In version 5.2.0.25 we have improved our current object model for better usability and functionality, however there are some breaking changes in APIs. Please refer to this document for a detailed list of changes: http://www.syncfusion.com/Product/uploads/DocIO APIchanges_f9afbe8a.pdf. However for most customers, the only change needed to make existing code compile with v5.2 is to remove reference to Syncfusion.DLS.Base.dll and also remove the Syncfusion.DLS namespace.

For more information, please look into our release notes:
http://www2.syncfusion.com/Installs/v5.2.0.25/release_notes/ReleaseNotes.htm

http://www2.syncfusion.com/Installs/v6.2.0.40/release_notes/ReleaseNotes.htm

In version 6.2 there is no API changes only fixes and feature implementation.

Please let me know if you have any problem in upgrading.

Regards,
Bhuvana
