Animating a symbol?

Your Essential Diagram component is perfect for a project that I have coming up - I do have one question: Is there a way to change bitmaps on the fly, so that a symbol appears to be animated? The solution could use a thread or a timer - I don't care which. I just need to allow the end user to lay down a symbol and have it 'animate'?
