Message when closing generated Excel Document

Hi,

We are considering to purchase the XlsIO library, but are having one issue.
When we generate an excel document with a formula (for instance through the sample DataManagement/Formulas), we can view it through excel - but when we close it afterwards, we get a screen saying that it was last saved by an earlier version of excel (see attached screenshot). This message is disturbing, and will not be usable for our end users.
We are using excel 2003, as do most of our customers.

Is there a way to create the excel files so that this message does not appear when closing the document?

Best regards
Casper Bang

Hi Casper,

Thank you for your interest in Syncfusion products.

Message when closing generated Excel Document:

This is the normal behavior of XlsIO. The problem is formula, because we don''t evaluate any formula. Due to this, we tell MS Excel that it should evaluate every formula in the workbook. After MS Excel evaluates those formulas, it stores its value in the workbook, so it changes it, and if you want to save that evaluated value, we have to save workbook. And MS Excel warns about this change when we open the workbook. The changes are persisted if we save the workbook and this is the default and normal behavior of XlsIO.

Please let me know if you have any other concerns.

Thank you for the quick response.
It sounds like a valid reason.

Does this same "restriction" also apply for word 2007 documents created by XlsIO?

Thanks
