How to check the MD5 of the download

How can I check the MD5 Checksum of the downloaded file? I searched the FAQ, but couldn't find it.

I found a utility for getting the MD5 checksum, it is freely availbale on MS website called fciv.exe (File Checksum Integrity Verifier).
