add new not called

I am using a gridgroupingcontrol with version 4.4.0.51. Occasionally, I have see a message box display with the message "Add new not called". What would cause that error to display? I don't see the message in my code. The grid sometimes locks up. I am adding records to the grid via the interface and not programmatically. I am subscribing to the TableControlCellButtonClicked event.
