Grid Grouping Control. Grouping columns containing comboboxes

I am using the Grid grouping control that I am binding to a data source. Some columns I am setting up to read from related tables as combo boxes.

My question relates to both the Filtering and the grouping. Is there any way to force these two to use the Display field from combo box rather than the value field?

The current default behaviour is somewhat counter-intuative to the data being displayed to the user.
