run time connection between ggc and text boxes?

Hi there,
How can I display selected grid cell contents in text boxes and vice versa, at run time? The user needs to have the option to enter/edit both on the top level group and in text boxes, kind of like in the Excel formula bar as you enter data in a cell. Also, I'm not clear how the ggc object model works as far as records/rows, cells, columns and accessing their values - whether to use elements, datarowviews etc - do you have a sample that compares/contrasts/illustrates the various means of getting at the data in a ggc and possibly defines some of the terms, (a hierachical view would be nice) ?
