How to set/reset the ''changed'' state of the text in the edit control

there used to be a settable flag for this. We open the edit control (empty) then programatically fill it with text. So it always thinks all the lines are changed. We never save to 'disk', so we need the name of the method or accessor that sets the state 'saved' (without actually saving) so that when the user elects to show 'changed' lines in different colors, the right lines show.

Thanks.
