How can I programatically set the active range of the selected cells

Hi All,

I wanted to set the range of the selected cells in my grid. What I want is that if user presses the Ctrl key and any number (0-9) than those many cells from the current cell should get selected and display as selected cell.

Can any one tell me how can I do that.
