Slowness of creation of controls

I have user control that contains about 16 controls (ComboBoxAdv, NumericUpdownExt or TextBoxExt)
Time it takes to create a control is slower than with standard controls
10 or more times slower for ComboBox
2 times slower for NumericUpDown
6 times slower for TextBox
What would be your recommendations to fix it?

I use Syncfusion Essential Studio 4.2.0.37 and Visual Studio .NET

Sample solution and project is attached.

Hi,

Could you please provide more details? Why this is happening? Is it possible to do something to make construction time shorter?
ComboBoxAdv is the most problematic one. Is it related to the need to create a set of nested controls including window?

Thank you,
Alex Feldman

DJ Davis Jebaraj Syncfusion Team January 30, 2007 08:46 PM UTC

Hi Mike,

We regret for the delay in responding and the unclear status of the issues relating to the initialization times of the Editor controls such as ComboBoxAdv, NumericUpdownExt and TextBoxExt.

The performance of ComboBoxAdv has been improved and these changes have already been included in our code base on December 19, 2006. The developer who made the fix set the defect to “Fixed” status without taking into consideration the fixes for the other controls. That’s why the defect was marked as closed even though the performance of all the controls have not been improved. We have now reopened the defect report and are working with very high priority to improve the initialization performance of the NumericUpdownExt and TextBoxExt controls.

We will update this forum post and also inform you as soon as the complete fix is available.

Thank you for your patience.

Regards,

Davis
