Connecting symbols without links

We have the requirement of connecting two symbols without using a link. This would be used for such things as electrical diagramming, and is supported in Visio (see attached). The basic behavior is when one symbol drags over another it can be snapped and conneceted port to port without the link line. Any idea on how this could be done, if it''s possible?

Hello Greg, Dynamic linking which is now featured in Essential Diagram(V4.1.0.50) allows the shapes defined by end points, such as Lines, PolyLines, and Arcs, to be transformed into a link by dropping them over a valid symbol port. Once these links are created they can''''t be detached from the symbols. This feature is demonstrated in the Samples\In Depth\DiagramBuilder and Samples\QuickStart\CoolLinks sample applications. And currently EssentialDiagram does not provide a support for detaching these dynamic links from the symbols. Kindly look at attached sample images and please let us know if you have any further queries. Thanks, Meera.
