Selection char not showing on menus

I have defined selection chars for my menus (e.g. F for File), but the underscore does not show unless you click on the menu item. Is there a way to always have the underscore showing? This behavior can be seen in the XPMenus sample.

This behavior is controled by the "Hide Keyboard Navigation indicators until the Alt key is pressed" setting in the OS Display properties dialog.
