I suspect an evaluation version of Essential Suite was installed on this machine previously which has now expired. Doing this would have placed an Essential Suite Evaluation unlock the key in the registry. Hence when you installed another evaluation version, the installation went through as if you were installing a full install because of the key already present in the registry. But since the key has already expired, it will not let you use the product any more. Please try the same on a clean machine and see if it works fine.
