Renaming file

I am facing an error while trying to rename a file in the same destination. For instance, if the file name is 'test.doc', and I want to rename it to 'Test.doc', it shows an error message saying 'Cannot rename'.

Please confirm which component you are using in the project sample. Also, please share the code snippets, an issue's replicable sample with replication steps, and a video demonstration of the issue. Based on this information, we will provide you with a better solution quickly.

Hi Islam,


We were able to replicate the reported issue Syncfusion FileManager component and we considered this as bug on our end. The fix for this issue will be included in the weekly patch release scheduled for 28th May 2024.

Thanks for your patience.


We are glad to announce that our patch release (V25.2.5) has been rolled out successfully. The issue with “Cannot able to rename a file by changing the casing in the File Manager component” has been resolved in this release.


To access this fix, we suggest you update the package to 25.2.5 and we include the sample in the latest version for your reference.
