Equation with multiple fonts is not shown in PDF

When adding an equation to a WordDocument that is then converted to PDF, I have used the functions provided to me in another ticket to set the font, font size and color of the characters in an equation created using the AppendMath command. It appears that when a single equation has multiple fonts, part of the equation is not shown. This is displayed in the attached project and can be seen in the Output pdf file. When this WordDocument is saved as a .docx file, the equation is shown as it should. Please advise.

Thanks.

Hi Natalie,

We have reproduced the reported problem “Different font for symbol in same paragraph in Word to PDF conversion” on our end. We will validate this issue and update you with more details by end of this week.

Regards,
Sneha.

Natalie, from the given details, we found that you are creating a MathML equation in the DocIO DOM scratch level and then converted to PDF. On further investigating the problem you have given the Arial font name for the last MathML equation, while the first two equations you have given the Cambria Math font name.

Unfortunately, the last MathML equation is not preserved in the generated PDF because the Arial font does not have the necessary glyphs to render the text in the PDF document. To preserve the MathML equation properly in the PDF document, we suggest you use a proper font (Cambria Math) that supports MathML equations. Otherwise, equation does not preserve properly.
