Recurrence Editor customize German Translation

Hi Team,

I'd like to use the Recurrence Editor for the Appointments. But the german translations for the values and labels are very "google translated", if you know what i mean (no offense). How can i customize this crappy german. I think i can change it in the Ressources, but i'm concerned it could be overwritten with the next update.

What would you suggest?

Based on your requirement, we have prepared a Scheduler sample and used German as its static culture which localizes correctly, if you found that they were not perfect German words you can change the respective German words for the RecurrenceEditor component in SfResources.de.resx in your sample. Refer the above shared UG for more details. Let us know if you need any further assistance.

yes, that was my suggestion too, but i was concerned about further updates of Syncfusion version and overriding my changes in the SfResources.de.resx. Is it save or is it necessary to check it after updates?

2. customize the Recurrence Editor.
I'd like to do some changes in the appearance (other div classes, positioning, etc.). How can i achieve this? I didnt found any tutorials.

The changes you have made in the resx file will not be override when you update the version of the Syncfusion packages in your project.


Query 2: customize the Recurrence Editor.

I know this thread is a bit older, but I have the same problem and would like to be more specific.


There are also translation files in an update. Of course, I don't have to use these, but they certainly often contain new translations that weren't available in old versions.

So how can I keep my own corrections to the German translation if I still want to use the latest resx files?

Is there a way to overwrite the translations of a language in the code, for example?

It would be ideal if I could specify SfRessources.my_de.resx in addition to SfRessources.de.resx. If a string is contained in my_de, it is used from it. If it does not contain the required translation, SfRessources.de.resx is used.

In this way, you could keep your own adjustments and still always include the latest SfRessources.de.resx.

Hi Stefan,


The approach of automatically prioritizing keys from a custom resource file (SfResources.my_de.resx) and falling back to the default file (SfResources.de.resx) is not currently supported.


As an alternative, we recommend combining both files into a single .resx file that includes your custom translations along with the latest keys from the official resource file. While doing so, please ensure that there are no duplicate keys to avoid conflicts.


This approach allows you to maintain your custom translations while still benefiting from the updated translations provided in new releases.
