Margins or padding?

I must surely be missing something obvious.

I've placed a TextBoxExt in a panel and docked it 100%.

I have to things I'd like to accomplish:

1: A margin between the textbox and the panel;

2: Padding between the text of the textbox and the textbox borders.

I can't find a way to do either of them.

The textbox control has a Margin property, but I set it to All: 40 and it didn't have any visible impact.

How do I accomplish this? It seems like an extremely basic feat
