Filter/Search not working in Protected sheet

I have a Spreadsheet control which is using the Protected Sheet option to limit which cells users can edit. (see example below)

The problem is that when I set the Sheet to protected it seems to break the Filter/Sort window

I would expect it to look like the below (this is how it looks with Protection disabled)

What is odd is that I can still Filter/Order with the Context Menu when the Sheet is protected - just not through the UI screen.

Is there any way to enable the Filter/Order By window while keeping the functionality of Read Only

As per Excel behavior, when the sheet is protected, the control restricts the user's ability to filter the data by making it read-only. On Excel, the filter pop-up will not be displayed, and even in the context menu, the filter option is disabled. That was the behavior.

 

Same as in a spreadsheet, when the sheet is protected, the control restricts displaying the filter pop-up. But upon validating, we noticed there is an issue with the context menu filter option. As per Excel, the context menu filter option should also be disabled.

Therefore, we have confirmed this as an issue "Need to disable the filter option on Context Menu while the sheet is protected" and logged a bug report, and it will be available in our upcoming April 5^th , 2023 patch release. You can track the status of the issue via the feedback link below.
