Double-clicking on a cell to edit brings focus to first column

When I double-click a cell to edit it, focus is automatically set to the first column of the row instead of the column I have just clicked. Is there a way to disable that?

Hi Andy,

Greetings from Syncfusion support.

From your query we suspect that you want Grid to focus the cell from the where the user double clicks the record. But the default behavior of the Grid is to focus the first editable column that is available in the edit form. So, while inserting a record into Grid, first editable column will be first column.  Similar while editing the existing record, focus will be set to first editable column in Grid edit form. This is default behavior of the Grid.  Please get back to us if you have further queries or if we misunderstood your query.

Sarvesh

So there must be a way to edit the cell I'm double-clicking. Currently, if I double-click on a cell, I have to click it again before I can start editing. How do I keep the focus on the cell I'm double-clicking? There must be a way.

Hi Andy,

From your query, we suspect that you want to want the edit record on grid where the user double clicks the records. We suggest you to use the Batch editing feature of the grid. This feature allows you to change a target cell to edit mode by double-clicking on it. You can refer to our attached User Guide documentation for more information.
