Initial node in a complex hierarchical tree layout

I'm using the complex hierarchical tree layout for my diagram.

I'm trying to make some loops between nodes. Everything is fine until my loop goes to the first node.

If I try to make a connector between node with name "multi 5" and the initial node (the one with the name "verification 1") and I call to doLayout, the diagram changes its form and it's no longer from top to bottom, all nodes aligned in three rows and the initial node gets lost in the first row with the others. Basically, the initial node is no longer at the top of the diagram.

Is there any way to fix that initial node at the top of the diagram regardless how many connectors has?

Hi Marina,

In a layout, the root node should not have incoming connectors. If a node contains incoming connectors, then it will be considered a child in the layout. It is the default behaviour of diagram control.
