Filter Menu in in full screen

We have 8 columns in the Grid and using Excel type filtering menu.

1. Is there a way to show filtering menu next to Column? at present filtering menu is coming/occupying in full screen
2. Date column filtering is not working format MM/dd/yyyy and this column have empty values in few rows
