When dynamically adding tabs with same name, behavior is enxpected

If I add a tab dynamically with the same tab as another, what I would like to have happen is that it replace that tab. Instead this is what happens.

It clears the first tab, then creates a new one with nested columns. How do I achieve what i want (remove the first tab and just recreate it
