text needs refresh after changing font size

You can see this in the 20.1.0.55 demo application for the EditControl.

  1. Select a new Font size from the drop down. To make it obvious pick a much larger or smaller font.
  2. Notice how the size does change but the text is most likely too close together and selection is kinda broke.
  3. Scroll the window or use the mouse wheel to get the EditControl to redraw to reformat the text and fix everything.

It would be nice if changing the Font also updated the layout so you don't need to scroll or perform some other action to change the view area.

We tried to reproduce the reported issue "text not refreshing after changing the font size" but were unable to reproduce it at our end. We have attached the tested sample for your reference.

 

If the attached sample does not meet your requirements, please share more information such as a complete code snippet, or revert by altering the attached sample to reflect the issue reproduced state, which will allow us to proceed to provide a solution as soon as possible.

I tried your example and it worked correctly. Then I created the same example using dotnet6 and it also worked correctly. Maybe it has something to do with the container that the edit control is in...


I'll attach the screenshots using the demo application so you know what I'm seeing. I didn't build the demo app myself, it's just the one that came with the official download. And my own application has the same problem but it's too complicated to turn into a simple example right now. I'll see if I can do that.

Hi John,

 

We have confirmed that “the text does not refresh properly after changing font size when setting the ShowLineNumber property to false” as an issue and logged bug feedback. We will include the fix for the reported issue in our upcoming weekly NuGet release which is expected to roll out on July 5, 2022. We appreciate your patience until then. We will let you know once it gets rolled out.

Because of our 2022 volume 2 main release last week, we will not have a weekly NuGet release for this week.
