sfPdfViewer - search iterating erratically under UWP

Hello,

with the latest version of the SfPdfViewer control (20.1.0.57) we observe some strange behavior, when iterating through search results in a document under UWP.

We can even reproduce it in the demo project. See the attached video, where we search for "GIS" in the "Getting started" section.

  • First click on next jumps to index 10 
  • Index jumps back to 13 from 17  
  • Then back to 18 from 15
  • Then straight to 43 (last) from index 30
  • Stays at 43 for the last clicks
  • When popup opens that we have reached the last result and click on next afterwards, we remain at index 43
  • Next click moves index to 10
It was impossible to recognize a pattern and searching in a document seems plain broken under UWP

Hi Helmut,

We were able to reproduce the issue, “Text search is not working properly in UWP platform” . Currently, we are validating this issue and we will update the further details on June 02, 2022.

We sincerely regret for inconvenience caused,

We are still working on the validation, “Text search is not working properly in UWP platform” due to the complexity. We will provide further details on June 06, 2022 without any delay.

Hi Helmut,

We have confirmed that the issue “Text search is not working properly in UWP” is a defect and logged a defect report for this issue. The patch for this issue will be delivered on June 20 ,2022.

We sincerely regret the inconvenience caused,

Due to regression issues faced during testing, we couldn't deliver the patch for this issue “Text search is not working properly in UWP platform” today. However, we will resolve the regression issues and will provide patch for this issue on June 27,2022 without any further delay.

Hi Helmut,

We have resolved the issue “Text search is not working properly in UWP platform” and the custom NuGet for the same can be downloaded from the attached link.   

Disclaimer: Please note that we have created this NuGet for version 20.1.0.61 specifically to resolve the following issue reported in this forum 175335.


Note : Kindly follow the steps to clear the NuGet cache and then install patched NuGet to get the issue resolved.

This fix will be included in our volume 2 - Service Pack release, which is expected to be available by July 2022
