Rendering problem with y-axis using Report Viewer

Hi there,

I have created a report with a line chart - made up of three "y values" from a dataset - using the Bold Reports designer.

Although it looks great in the editor, some unexpected y-axis are stacked on the right side of the graph when visualizing it on the Angular report viewer component. It has come to my attention that there are as many overlapped axis as the number of "Y values" used.

A report file example is attached as well as some screenshots comparing the expected and obtained results. Please note that data shown is not the same, but the chart has been configured in the same way.

Any hint on what is happening here? I'm currently using the latest version available: 3.3.34.

Thank you in advance.

Kind regards.

Hi Israel,

Thanks for the update,

We have validated the reported issue from our side, but we were unable to reproduce the issue. We have prepared the sample applications in Asp.net Core and Angular for your reference. Could you please check this sample and confirm whether the issue was reproduced at your end? If the issue is not reproduced with our sample, could you please share the issue's reproducible sample with us? It will be helpful for our further validation. We have attached the ASP.NET core and an angular application.

Hi there,

A new attachment is included with the requested sample. The reported scenario could be validated from any of the viewers, including the standalone report designer, ASP.NET or Angular.

Kind Regards.

Hi Israel,

Thanks for the update,

We were able to reproduce the reported issue. In your report under ChartSeriesCollection, you have used the ValueAxisName as "Secondary". We suggest you to change the ValueAxisName to "Primary" to resolve the reported issue as shown in the below snap. We have attached the modified report.

Hi Arumugasami,

I need both "Primary" and "Secondary" axis to be shown, as data units and scales may be different for each axis. For that reason, changing all the axis to "Primary" would not solve the visualization problem for me.

For example, I may have four sets of data - being two of them linked to the left axis while the others are set into the right axis. It works well when it comes to make multiple assignments to the left axis, however the visualization glitch arises on the right axis when there is more than one set of data linked to it.

A new attachment is included with a visual representation of the obtained and expected behaviour.

Kind regards.

Hi Israel,

As of now, we have given the solution to resolve the issue. In the future, if you design the report, could you please specify the axis name as primary to resolve the issue? As per the standard of RDL, it is a behavior for the secondary axis.

Arumugasami M
