Change the decimal separator to ',' instead of '.'

Hello,

Could you please tell me how can I change the decimal separator to comma instead of dot or point which is set by default?

I am using the Spreadsheet v. 19.4.43.

Best Regards,

Hi Ignacy,

We have checked your query and please confirm the below details to proceed further.

1. whether you need to change the decimal separator in en-US default culture? or you need to load another culture.
2. If you load another culture means, please refer the KB link to load the culture files for proper formatting.
3. Please share the details, why you need to change the decimal separator.
4. Please share the detailed description of your requirement.

Could you please check this and get back to us with above requested details, based on that we will check and provide you a better solution.

Hello Sangeetha,

Thank you very much for a quick response. I have done the following things just like they are shown in the culture setting example which you have sent earlier:

  1. Loaded the currencies, cagregorian, numbers, timeZoneNames, numberingSystems from cldr-data library.
  2. Set the culture to French.
  3. Set the currency to Euro.
  4. Loaded a French culture to L10n.
  5. Set locale to French in Spreadsheet Component.
Unfortunately, it is not working as expected. Whenever I try to directly calculate in Spreadsheet Component, the sum of two cells which have the decimals separated by commas in it, returns 0. However, it is calculating correctly for the decimals separated by dots or points.

Also, we are using ASP.NET Core backend service and I have successfully set the culture to French over there. When I generate the PDF file from the same cells described above using this backend service, the generated files have correctly calculated cells in it.

PS. I have attached the example screenshots.

Hello Sangeetha,

I just wanted to point out that in the example which you sent me the calculation of sum of decimals separated by commas are not working as expected even after loading the French culture, it just returns 0. But for the decimals separated by dots the sum function calculates and returns 0.50 as expected.

I have attached an example screenshot.

Hi Ignacy,

We suggest you to apply the number format for numbered cells to avoid this issue in your end. And we have prepared the sample based on our suggestion with formula calculation. In this we have applied the number formats for F column and apply the formula for F31 cell please find the link below.
