File size

Hello,

I have a PDF file with a size of 4.9MB. If I open it in my WPF tool which uses the PdfViewer and do Save As, the resulting file is 10.5MB. I have not made any modifications to the file, just open and save.

I there a way to reduce the file size and make it closer to the original?

Kind regards,

Wouter

Hello,

This issue seems to persist.  Opening a PDF form and saving it or performing a Save as operation increases the file size no matter if the operation is filling in or removing information from the form. Attached are two tested files. The sample PDF file only increases a small amount but the Schlag View PDF is increasing by about 40%. After 10-20 edits and saves the loading operation fails and often crashes the whole application.
Tested on the newest version 26.2.9 and also 19.4.0.50 mention to contain the fix.

Best regards,

Filip

Hi,

I cannot access the link provided. (Access Denied. This private feedback is not associated with your account.)
I tested it on version
26.2.14 and the issue persists.

Best regards,

Filip

Hi Filip,

We apologize for the inconvenience. The feedback link should now be accessible on your end. Initially, when the issue was reported, the file size increased by 40-50%. However, in version 26.2.14, the file size increase has been reduced to 10-15%, which is expected behavior. This is because Essential PDF supports incremental updates for PDF documents, which improves performance and allows the document to be saved more quickly.

Regards,

Krithika
