Issue with pasted text and tables in rich text editor

Hello,

I'm working with rich text editor and I have encountered some issues.

  1. Sometimes pasted text is unable to select.
  2. There is also problem with pasted tables. They don't keep original formatting. 
  3. Created tables in rich text editor have lots of issues

Hi Damian, 
 
 
We have tried to reproduce the reported issue in the following ways, 
 
  • Ensured by pasting contents into the tables inside the Rich Text Editor.
  • Ensured by pasting a table into the Rich Text Editor.
  • Also ensured by inserting a new table in the Rich Text Editor and adding contents in it.
 
But we didn’t face any issues at our end. we have also prepared a sample for your reference, 
 
 
Can you please share the below details, 
 
  • Your package version.
  • Please share the content you pasted into the Rich Text Editor to replicate the issue.
  • Can you share the details, from where you copied the contents.
  • Exact issue reproducing steps or video illustration.
  • If possible please share us with the runnable issue reproducing sample or modify the attached sample with the issue reproducing code.

We need some clarification regarding the reported issue.

Can you please share the following details to proceed further?

  1. Please share the content which you tried to paste in document editor?

  2. Can you please check it with latest version 19.4.41? because we have included fix related to merged cells. If you still facing the  issue please share the reproducing steps that would be helpful for us to proceed further.

Hello, 

I have updated document editor to latest version and some of issues are resolved. 

Unfortunately still I have found some issues:

  • While copying bigger table - table is "cut",
  • Copied tables don't keep colors in formatted cells,
  • Copied texts from word file don't keep formatting 
  • There are some errors in console:

### While copying bigger table - table is "cut", 
 
Could you please check the same scenario in MS Word? MS word also the table is clipping(cut). 
###Copied tables don't keep colors in formatted cells 
We can be able to reproduce the reported issue. Currently, we are validating the reported issue and get back to you with more details by January 24,2022. 
 
###Copied texts from word file don't keep formatting  
 
We couldn’t reproduce the reported issue. We have tried to copy the whole content from the document(Texts.docx) and paste it in document editor. But it keeps formatting equal to MS word.  We couldn't get any console errors. 
If possible can you please share the video illustrations for these reported issue? That will be helpful for us to provide a solution earlier.

Thank you for a quick reply. I will soon send you more information about issues that we discussed.

I have also found one issue. I have tried to copy metafile from OneNote into document editor

without success. Could you check if that issue can be resolved?

I have copy the metafile from one note which shared by you and pasted it in Document editor. We couldn't reproduce the reported issue. Created video for the same. Please check it and let us know if we have done anything wrong. If possible, please share the video illustration.
