Hi Young,
Thanks for contacting Syncfusion support
Q1) There is no Syncfusion Reference Manager in the context menu and also no assemblies, if i click on add reference in VS.
I have the controls in the toolbox but it still throws the error "Failed to create component...". I had Syncfusion installed a few month ago
A1) Please refer the below documentation for configuring the Syncfusion controls toolbox using toolbox utility,
Command line steps for installing the Windows extension packages.
- Open command prompt in admin mode.
- Locate to the below path.
C:\Program Files (x86)\Syncfusion\Essential Studio\Windows\19.3.0.53\Utilities\Extensions\VSIX Installer
- Pass the below argument to the “SyncfusionVSIXInstallerConsole.exe”.
/action:install /isinstaller:true /platform:Windows
- For your convenience, please refer the below image.
If the issue not resolved please share the following details to check the issue from our end.
1. Follow the steps suggested in the below KB article link and send us the zip file which consists of Syncfusion Installer logs generated by our tool
2. Screenshot of issue which you are facing.
Q2) What i also don't understand. If i uninstall the "assemblies" (that i can't add/ reference) by the assemblies manager and uninstall Essential Studio.
The controls are still in the toolbox. i can reset the toolbox as often as i want and also delete the 2 syncfusion tabs, restart VS, it's still there....??????????
A2) Removing assemblies will just remove them from the Assemblies folder and the GAC, but our toolbox extension will still be installed. From VS2017 onwards, we will use extension packages for toolbox configuration; uninstalling it will remove the syncfusion controls from the toolbox.
Please let us know if any other queries on this.
