Close button does not work properly

Hello

I'm using the Ribbon component in a form that is MdiContainer.

My application should terminate when the last form is closed.

When I don't open any client form, the "close" button on the Ribbon works correctly, however if I open one or more "child" forms, the close button doesn't always end the application, although the "parent" form closes the application still works in background.

I tried to override the method, but it's set to "Friend" and doesn't allow the operation.

Can you help me?

Thanks

Hi Jose,

Thanks for contacting Syncfusion support.

We have analyzed your reported query “Close button does not work properly”. Based on your specifications, we created a simple sample. We utilized the single parent form and two child forms in this case. When we pressed the close button, the parent and child forms should have been closed as intended. Could you please give the following details on how you expect to close the parent form when you close the child form?

Please refer the attached videos from the following location:

Could you please check the issue in our working sample and let me know. If you are Still facing the same issue, could you please share the detailed description along with working sample or modify the attached sample so that we can provide a solution as soon as possible?

Regards,
Thirupathi B.

Hi Jose,

Thanks for sharing the reproducible sample.

We are able to reproduce the reported issue “Application still running in the background even after closing parent form” in your working sample. The reported issue occurs only when "SfForm" is used. We are currently validating the root cause of the problem. So we’ll provide the further details on 13th October, 2021. We appreciate your patience until then.

Regards,
Thirupathi B.

Hi Jose,

Thanks for your patience.

We have fixed the reported issue “Application is running even after closing the parent form if the SfForm is added as MDI child” in our end. But unfortunately we are unable to include the fix in our 2021 Volume 3 Service Pack release.  However we can either provide patch for the fix if you are using Essential Studio or else if you are using NuGet version of our product, we can include the fix in our weekly NuGet package. Please revert to us about the Syncfusion product version you are using in your end. We will update further details based on your confirmation.

Regards,
Mohanram A.
