"Can't open storage on lockbytes." on .doc file

Hi. I'm having an issue opening the .doc version of the attached file in the Angular Document Editor. However if I try to open the .docx version of the attached file it opens fine. I am using an azure cloud service to convert the document into the SFDT string. I am getting this error from the SFDT string function "Can't open storage on lockbytes."

I found this other forum post that relates to it. https://www.syncfusion.com/forums/117068/cant-open-storage-on-lockbytes. If it is a pre 97 document in the doc format are there plans to support those documents?

Hi Luke,

Thank you for contacting Syncfusion support.

Currently DocIO doesn’t have support to preserve preformatted MS Word files (File is created using older version of MS Word previous to 97 version). As we are concentrating to add DOCX file format specific features, there is no plan for concentrating older version file formats. So, we recommend you use the DOCX file format, to achieve your requirement.

As a workaround kindly resave the document using any later version of MS Word and open that document using DocIO
